The first task this morning was the daily checking of the garden moth trap. On the walk across the garden the first Swift of the year flew over. In the trap my first Rustic Shoulder-knot of the year.

And at Cresswell, Northumberland's first nesting Avocets.
|Avocet Recurvirostra avosetta |
great capture Tim and so please to see they have stayed on to nest...been up to see them 1/2 a dozen times but not for a week or too....do you mind DM me as to which side they are? are they easy to get an Ok image of? i.e hide side or on the far side near the little pool?ReplyDelete
By the way what lens did you take this with
Great blog and always look in every few days
Thanks Will. The Avocets are in front of the hide. I used a 500mm lens and an 1.4x convertor. A bit far away for a real keeper of a picture.ReplyDelete
I'd get up there quick as I don't fancy their chances when the rain comes or the Otter fancies an omelette :(
