There's no God.......

.......wits around today. An early trip to Holywell pond and no sign of yesterday's 30 strong flock of Black-tailed Godwits. On the Beehive flash, the Avocet remains along with a dapper Shelduck.

In Tynemouth, at least two female Ring Ouzels were showing well behind the Coast Guard Cottages, and Tom Tams had brief tree tops views of a possible Hawfinch.

With rain and easterly gales for tomorrow, Monday might just throw up a few surprises. A Wryneck in my garden would be nice!

Ring Ouzel - Prestwick Carr

I've just got back from Prestwick Carr where I managed to stumble across a Ring Ouzel amongst a flock of Fieldfare at about 8pm. It was passed the sentry box in the field to the west of the track at the next gate along.

On the way back down the track a 'hairy' cow bolted out of the bushes in front of me and scrambled back through the fence into the field where it had escaped from. A quick change of underwear and I headed towards Prestwick village where a Barn Owl was hunting.

Something this colour and size (small cow) moving fast with a long hairy tail...........
I thought I'd been ambushed by a Lion!

Dodging Balls

Two Wheatear at Newbiggin golf course today, western edge by the first horses/ponies. No sign of the reported Ring Ouzel.

Also saw my first butterfly along the beach here, probably Small Tortoiseshell - blew past in the wind so no clear look.
