T...The weight of the 100-400 is about 3 1/2 pounds. The 70-200 with the extender is a pound heavier. Still half that of the 500mm.<br /><br />I've got no complaints with the 100-400. Mine has always been sharp and while the trombone design isn't ideal it's a very good lens.
